Danny Garrett

Danny Garrett was born in Dodge City, Kansas, grew up on the Texas Gulf Coast and graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Five months later, he was drafted and shipped to Vietnam. He spent ten and a half months there before returning home in 1970 to a world that had changed as profoundly as he.

Garrett found his way to Austin in the spring of 1971 and spent the next thirty-four years as an artist and designer for the city’s burgeoning music, film, and gaming industries. In January, 2005, he moved to New Zealand, where he teaches art and design at the Auckland University of Technology.
